Jumping into our Zipcar on Stanyan St/Haight St in San Francisco, we started our Moo Moo trip at 4 pm. After slowly moving in the traffic for 40 min, we finally went across the bay bridge and headed down south. Driving on highway 5 could be fun. All you can see are fruit trees, hills, cows, trucks and the sky. After about 3 more hours drive, we took the highway 198 exit and here comes Harris Ranch, the big sign you couldn't miss.
Harris Ranch in Coalinga is an inn with restaurants and a gift shop. After you walk inside, there is the gift shop straight ahead. On the right hand side is a long hallway that lead you to the bar and restaurant. The entire hallway is filled with very stylish customized "cow-chairs," which are new and really interested to me. You will see a couple chairs that the seats are make of leather and the legs, arms, and the back are made of horns. Below is a picture I took of one of the horns chairs. Can you count how many pairs of horns were used to make it? I counted 12!! Also, there are many couches that are make of leather cowhides. When you are sitting on this couch, isn't it feel like sitting on a real cow? Along the hallway is a bar that says "Adult Only." At the end of the hallway comes the dinning restaurant, where we found the stop for our Moo Moo trip.
(tell me: how many cows do you count in this chair? i counted 12)
(do you feel like riding a cow when sitting on this couch?)
The decorations of the restaurant give you the country-side feels and turn the restaurant into a museum. The walls are decorated with rusted tools that I guess the ages are probably 20, 30 years old. Some of the tools that you may never seen before. Big round rusted iron lighting fixtures are hanging on the ceiling throughout the restaurant.
(the tools are rusted. isn't it make u feel like back to the western age?)
(more history to tell~)
Here I am going to introduce four dishes we had ordered for dinner and lunch (we came back the next day for more...) All the the entrees come with warm bread with butter. Um um...good!
Dish #1: Ranch Burger
Burgers are 1/3 lb. USDA Choice natural Black Angus Beef. Served on a whole wheat or country potato bun, accompanied by wedge-cut or sweet potato fries. Jack or Cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, pickles and the ranch special dressing.

All Beef Entrées come with Farm Fresh Vegetables and choice of Potato Selection.
[It went really well with the dipping sauces!]
Dish #4 The Wedgie
Wedge of farm fresh iceberg lettuce, sliced tomato, red onion, black olives, and Blue cheese with your choice of dressing. Your choice of Charbroiled 8 oz. Top Sirloin Steak, or 8 oz. Filet Mignon.
[I cut the wedge of lettuce and mixed it with the rest of ingredients to make my salad. I had the filet mignon. They were so good!]
After trying these four dishes, I had my best choice - Dish #3 - Hickory. The beef was marinated for long hours before it was cooked. I think this was the best steak I had ever. Now I will know what to order next time when I come back ;)
